VDK Group Inc. is currently seeking to hire full-time Estimators. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting our residential and commercial operations by preparing accurate takeoffs, developing detailed quotations, and working closely with sales, production, and project coordination teams. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of residential and commercial construction projects while contributing to the continued growth and success of all VDK divisions, including Residential Windows & Doors, Overhead Doors, and Commercial Glazing.

What You’ll Do

• Review plans, specifications, and customer requirements to prepare accurate material takeoffs and cost estimates for residential window and door, overhead door, and commercial glazing projects
• Analyze project scope, design details, and installation requirements to ensure all products, options, labour considerations, and project requirements are included
• Prepare detailed, accurate, and timely quotations for residential windows, exterior doors, patio doors, overhead doors, commercial glazing systems, curtain wall, storefronts, aluminum entrances, and related accessories, ensuring all estimates align with project specifications and customer requirements
• Collaborate closely with the sales team, project coordinators, and production staff to clarify project requirements and develop competitive, accurate pricing
• Communicate with suppliers to obtain current pricing, product information, and lead times
• Maintain organized records of estimates, revisions, and correspondence for ongoing and future reference
• Stay current with product lines, energy efficiency standards, building codes, manufacturer specifications, and industry best practices
• Support continuous improvement of estimating processes, tools, and templates to enhance accuracy and efficiency

What You’ll Bring

• A proactive and detail-oriented mindset with the ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, schedules, and project specifications for residential and commercial projects
• Experience in construction estimating, preferably within residential windows and doors, overhead doors, commercial glazing, curtain wall, storefront systems, or a related construction field
• Strong understanding of residential and commercial construction practices, materials, installation methods, and building systems
• Proficiency with estimating or takeoff software (e.g., Window Builder, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or similar) is an asset
• Solid computer skills, including experience with Excel and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with internal teams, suppliers, and customers
• Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously while meeting deadlines
• High level of organization and attention to detail
